We all like to see the best in people. But how do you get the best out of people and build a high-performance team?

There are some who say you nurture it while there are others who say you squeeze it.

My take is it works both ways. I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase, “I do my best work under pressure.” For those folks, you might get the best out of them by squeezing. At the other end of the spectrum, the pressure will completely shut those folks down.

The hard job for automotive sales managers is to understand what makes people tick and how to help them perform well. Not an easy job.

And by the way, companies and car dealerships that only use the squeeze method, will implode over time. But I bet you already knew that.
